One major concern for microphthalmia patients is prosthetic changes. How often do children with microphthalmia need a new prosthesis?

The answer  depends  on several factors. Mainly, if the child outgrows the prosthetic, a refit is needed. The prosthetic eye can be refit several times as long as the acrylic isn’t that old.

Please feel free to share your own experiences with prosthetic eye fittings and changes!
